Sunday, May 19, 2019, 3:30 PM

Hello! Uhuru Foods & Pies is looking for volunteers to come help out at the annual Maker Faire in our outdoor food booth on Saturday, May 18 or Sunday May 19 in San Mateo, CA.  We we will be preparing, grilling and selling delicious African comfort food such as jerk chicken both real and vegan, jamaica juice, fried plantains, and sweet potato pie! No experience is necessary and we will train you while you are there! Uhuru Foods & Pies is one of the economic institutions of Black Star Industries and it is about putting the means to grow, produce and distribute fresh food into the hands of African people. The vision of Uhuru Foods & Pies includes the goal for Africans to control their own land, farms, trucking, baking, cooking and distribution of food, none of which African people are currently able to carry out on a large scale inside the U.S., Africa or anywhere in the world today.
