Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) May 31st & June 1st- San Jose Campus
This two-day course is recommended for emergency medical responders, nurses, physicians, and physicians’ assistants. This onsite course covers a wide variety of traumatic emergency recognition and treatments. Certification is valid for four years and is accredited through NAEMT. Students will gain essential knowledge and skills in the following areas: identification of mechanism of injury, identifying life-threatening injuries and the related pathophysiology, rapid and detailed trauma assessment techniques, airway management and ventilation, rapid extrication, spinal immobilization, traumatic brain injuries, burns, mass casualty incidents, and pediatric trauma management.
